The Romanian government, Greenpeace and WWF have started the nomination process for the virgin beech forests of Romania to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. The designation process and all the procedures related to it will take approximately two years.

The benefits of using native species in large scale rehabilitation and restoration projects are highlighted in a new publication from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

This section encompasses 14 national forest reports structured according to national and/or pan-European C&I for SFM. The reports can be downloaded both in English and/or in local language. According to the CI-SFM report, many other countries stated that a national/sub-national report conforming with the pan-European C&I set was planned for 2012-2015.

Description: This report provides information on the revised set of the Austrian indicators for sustainable forest management. The revision took place under the national forest programme (Austrian Forest Dialogue) and took into consideration the pan-European C&I.
