Implementing criteria and indicators for sustainable forest management

Regional Workshop in Zagreb, Croatia, 26-27 March 2013

In the frame of the Pan-European Criteria & Indicators for Sustainable Forest Management (CI-SFM) project, a series of workshops has been organized in different locations in Europe, to provide a platform for discussion on the Pan-European C&I set. This workshops sequence first took off in Zagreb, Croatia.

This kick-off Regional Workshop was supported jointly by the Central-East and South-East European Regional Office of the European Forest Institute (EFICEEC-EFISEE), the Faculty of Forestry of Zagreb, and FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (FAO REU).

Outcomes of the workshop:

Based on the country experience and the conclusions brought up by the 3 working groups, the participants agreed upon a list of recommandations  to foster C&I implementation in the Western Balkans region.

The workshop outcomes will support the work of the FOREST EUROPE "Expert Group to Propose Improvements in Tools for SFM” and will be considered during the preparations for the CI-SFM Pan-European Forum on C&I implementation.
